Editorial Policies

Trust rules for the news desk.

LA Inshore is built around plain language, clear labels, public records, sponsor transparency, correction-friendly reporting, and respect for readers who want the facts without the fog.

House Rules

How LA Inshore should handle coverage.

01

Corrections

Fix material mistakes clearly.

If we get a fact, date, quote, source, link, rule, location, or characterization materially wrong, we should correct it and note the correction on the affected story.

02

Sponsorship

Sponsors do not control editorial conclusions.

LA Inshore is sponsored by SELA Fishing Forecast.com. Sponsored content should be labeled, and forecast-specific material should stay in the SELA lane.

03

Reviews

Readers should know how gear got here.

Reviews should disclose whether a product was purchased, loaned, provided for testing, sponsored, advertised, or connected to affiliate links.

04

Right of Reply

Serious criticism deserves a chance to respond.

When a story includes serious criticism of a person, agency, event, business, or brand, LA Inshore should make a reasonable effort to seek comment or explain why comment was not available.

05

Article Labels

Do not disguise the type of story.

News, Analysis, Explainer, Review, Opinion, Event Preview, Event Recap, Investigation, Press Release, Correction, and Update should be labeled clearly.
